The Lost Light (2011)
The Lost Light was a children's theater production staged at the Center For Performance Research in December 2011 by Sharkmother Arts Collective. I was the set and electronics designer. The play is a musical adventure about a young, scrappy girl's fight for optimism when the grown-ups around her start to lose hope. My work for this play included actor-controlled, glowing overalls (using LilyPad Arduino), a set of portable, light-up glass jars to represent each actor's spirit, and a glowing origami garden of light. The play was directed by Reginald Douglas, composed by Benjamin Bernstein, music direction was by Hansel Tan, lighting direction by Jake Fine, choreography by Sanaz Ghajarrahimi, and costumes by Sydney Gallas.
